Sometimes something good happens

Last night I saw an ad online for a Massey Harris 44 with a DUAL loader. The tractor is 9 miles north of me. I called midmorning and really wanted it. I almost begged but the seller said that a guy was coming to see it (a 3 hour, one way, drive). I understood that he has to honor the guys look. I was pretty bummed out. Nobody drives 3 hours and doesn't buy it.

Well... he didn't buy it.. BUT let me tell you WHY!!!

He is a collector. You know what happened?

He said "If he is going to put it to work on the farm, let him have it if he wants it".

Well, I fairly FLEW out of the farm and to the tractor. It is in FINE shape.

I wanted to pay the mans guy's but couldn't get the seller to call him.

How COOL is THAT?????
Really makes me proud to be in the tractor community. It triples my ability to do work. Now my Farmall 400 can do the pulling, dragging, PTO stuff and the Massey can do the lifting and cleaning...

I am just too happy right now!!!

Looks like it is a stout tractor. Glad to here that good things happen to folks. I have kind of a stupid question but what is a dual loader??? as you can guess I am new to this and trying to learn all I can.

Dual is a brand name for a loader manufacturer. There are a couple different manufacturers.. Farmhand is another...

OK Thanks, never heard of that brand before (but thats not saying much) stupid me was thinking that it did something "two ways". Hope you enjoy your Tractor and everything works great for you.

I have to admire the sellers honor on his word to the guy that drove the 3+ hours a then he (buyer) decided to let someone that would use it buy it that is just good people. We need some names so that we can hold them up as examples on how to treat people.

I sure wish I had the buyers name... even better I hope he sees this post... Sure wish I could have at least paid his fuel bill. That trator is going to be a MAJOR upgrade to my operation..

I know how You Feel,, Really, To Put a Long Story Short, I bought a JD H about Five M from My Home, Carried the Truck and trailer, over to pick it up, it had a Set of planters on it and wouldn't go on the trailer, this is One Nice Orig H and still have it, I drove that "Baby" Home Grinnin' all the Way... Later Larry KF4LKU

Great story!
Not many buyers would pass up a deal like that after driving 3 hours in consideration of a hard working stranger.Enjoy your new tractor.

Congratulations on the purchase of your loader tractor, they are a very handy piece of equipment to have around,... I'd be "lost" without mine.

you hit a home run there, for sure. as a (long ago) fellow first time loader user, and in view of the fine shape the massey is in, i would suggest building a grille guard for the front of the tractor before you get a little too close to something and bend some metal on the tractor. you can guess how i know. the 300 utility still bears the scars.
