OT: Weeds in driveway

The weeds have really overtaken our gravel driveway this year. Just was wondering if there were any suggestions on what others are doing or putting on their driveways to kill the weeds? Thanks for the help.

Winter is coming, just ignore them. If they are growing in the middle between the wheel tracks, shift to one side for a few days. If you have teenagers with friends be happy if anything grows within 5' either side of the driveway. I've got more important matters to be concerned with, sorry.

Well, weeds can make snow removal harder....

Any of the generic or real RoundUps is what you are looking for.

Or blade & grade the drive, that will take them out.

Get a Model T Ford like I have. When people complained to old Henry about their T leaking oil all the time, he would just say " keeps grass from growing in your driveway doesn"t it?".

The Ortho product sold at most stores replaces Roundup with great success and costs less. I have used it in three different areas and it kills easily as well as Monsanto's over priced Roundup.

I guess in light of that statement, I might add that if you have a Dubuque built John Deere whether it's an M or a 310A diesel backhoe, just run up and down the driveway on occasion. That will keep the weeds well oiled.

Drive on them?? Grade the driveway with a blade?
Otherwise CaCl at a good rate would be my choice. It'll keep the dust down and kill the weeds at the same time. You need to get together with they guy down the page that wants to dispose of some CaCl...

Every few years I end up just buying several yards of new gravel and having the truck tail gate it. I then rake it out smooth by hand.

It's not as cheap as Roundup but once the weeds start coming up, there's no stopping them. My chickens free range here so don't like using herbicides anyway.

"Kills everything green".......actually not; probably work under the circumstances described, but there are several weeds that it won't touch..........

I use ground clear. Ace hardware sales it. Use it along fence line to. Suppose to last a year. sterilizes the ground.
