Antifreeze in oil VAC case

I am trying to get a Vac Case that has been sitting out side for 8 years. A small amount of green came out first when I took out the oil drain plug. I know its possible the block is cracked or a bad head gasket. Is there any possibility things will be OK if I fire it up. Northern MN

You can put fresh cheap walmart oil in and then fire it up, should be okay for a while, but you'll have to inspect very soon to see if any antifreeze is disappearing from the rad.

That is what I'm going to do. I was looking at a few posts and they are talking about sleeve o ring seals and maybe heads that go bad after sitting. I got some 10/30 Pennz and I'll buy a new oil filter and give it a shot. I'm going to start it with the radiator cap off and see if there is any bubbling. The last 2 numbers of the serial number are 44 so minus 4 it should be a 1940 VAC Case as I have been told.

It could be leaking around those sleeve seals if it has wet sleeves. If you pull the pan you can place a clean container under the engine and see if any antifreeze drips into the pan. Hal
