old 4010 with some issues

4320 diesel

New User
got a 4010 diesel my grandpa bought new and he was the first guy around there who bought a non 2 cyl deere it only had one scv so he put a extra block on it mounted on the fender and he has it plumbed into the scv valves under the hood infront of the cowl and i was wondering if this valve isnt a closed center valve then ill be constatly running the hydrolic pump all the time or is the vlave block under hood gonna stop it from doing that any input is appreciated thanks

Is the remote valve connected to line pressure or is it used to split the output of one of the original SCV's to run an extra set up couplers.

If it's connected to line pressure, it MUST be closed-center.

If the wrong valve is used, you should begin to feel it warming up soon after the tractor has been started even if it is not being used (is centered).

ok ya she gets pretty hot when you tillin up the dirt or running a orbit motor ill stop by princess auto and pick up a 2 scv block with the closed center attachment thanks cause on my 4320 you can hear the pump when you release a hydrolic lever on it and on the 4010 the pump is silent all the time so it must be constantly running ok thanks

Just to clarify... does the auxiliary valve get HOT while you are NOT using that hydraulic function?

yes when ever im running the engine for a long time the valve block gets hot so it must be for a open center system

Some valves can be converted by changing a plug on the outlet end and replacing the pressure relief valve with a plug. Some can't.

Unwanted oil flow through an open center valve when installed on a closed center system.
Drops the overall pressure and flow low on eveything else in the hydraulic system too.
