Mossberg Shotgun

I am looking for a shotgun, local guy has a Mossberg 12 ga. pump for sale. Says it has 3 barrels? One is a muzzleloader? If it is in good condition, is it worth $250?

We have a mossberg that was bought 30 years ago. Works like new, tough as nail. A used model 500 with 3 barrels for $250 is a decent deal if it is in decent shape. You will not get much more for $250.

First gun I ever bought was a .22 mossberg $25 great gun still use the most of all guns rides on the tractor most of the time. Then I had a 12 ga Bolt action Mossberg dam thing could shoot around corners, never hit a thing. If you want a 12 Ga gun look around for one. My thoughts are unless you need multiple options for barrels ( they do have some great pack guns with interchangeable barrels but that has a good reason.
If ron popel sp. (ronco) he would have one like it dices, slices, peels etc..

I would price a new one of the same model. I have a Maverick 12ga and just bought my son a 20 gauge from the pawn shop and got a better deal on his than on my own. I've been happy with both. Mossberg has been around for many years....

If it is in good shape then $250 tops, Offer $200. My Mossberg 835 has only shotgun barrel, no slug barrel, I dont shoot slugs much cause accuracy isnt good. I paid $269 for my 835 new, 9 years ago from Gander mtn. I have seen the Remington 870 pump 12g go for $189 new.

i have a mosse. 500 mariner (((kinda like stainless))) i use for deer season and i love it highly accurate and reliable with the slug barrel shooting buckhammers.

I have a Mossberg 500. You can get an assortment of barrels, full choke, adjustable choke, modified choke vent rib for trap shooting, sluggers, etc.

And it only takes a minute to switch barrels. With three barrels, $250 sounds reasonable, but I wouldn't go over that.

Mossberg pump e.g. a 500 is a very rugged gun. It will bring $250 to the right person. I have several I bought for $75 back years ago when they were considered "el-cheapos." But, no more. They've made a name for themselves, especially in law enforcement.

Fact is - I don't see ANY cheap guns anymore. Especially if they have any real wood on them.

My second gun ever was a 500 12ga bought new when I was 12. That was 18 dove, tree rat, rabit, and turkey seasons ago. It has been a good'n. If I lost it, I'd give 250 for one like it with 3 barrels.

Mine came with a 26" modified barrel with out a rib. Bought a 24" with tubes, much happier with the shorter barrel.

Personally, don't think you can top a Winchester model 12. Just gotta find one at low price. Also, they appreciate if you take care of them.

I haven't been in the States to know today's gun prices, but about 30 years ago, I bought a Mossberg 500 w/ a ribbed barrel and adjustable (screw) choke and a slug barrel for $220. I guess 250 bucks for what you are talking about 30 years later wouldn't be a bad price. I put away plenty of Thumpers and Bambi's with it and my brother is still using it today.

I've had a Mossberg 500 for quite awhile. I bought it as a combo (regular barrel with chokes and a slug barrel.) I like the shotgun very much. Mossberg 500's are strong, rugged and reliable. You can't go wrong.

I used to have one and still miss it. Tough old beater to carry on the tractor.
Unless you are wearing think winter clothes. Firing 3" mags or 3" slugs with the short 24" barrel. They will leave you bruised and sore. Those 500 pumps are exceedingly light in weight.

Friend has a Mossberg pump with the 24" slug barrel that has a reputation for "killin' from both ends." Good news is, nobody ever asks to borrow his gun to hunt with.
