just finished installing a completly new steering box on my '53 golden jubilee, man what a difference!!! i havr driven this thing for 15 plus years and rebuilt it 3 times with hardly notible results, and it lasted about 2 months then got a quarter trun of slack in the wheel which would gradually increase to a half turn a little hard to herd down the field that way, but now wow, no wonder they dont have power steering, if its all working right it dont need it, justthought id slip in something about tractors on here lol

So what does one of them steering boxes cost now days. I've got an 861 that needs some help in that department.
Nice post by the way just a little O/T , not to bad though. Just was thinking my tractor used to be Red but my grandfather decided to paint it blue. Do you suppose that could have been politically motivated. LOL

it was about 570.00 shiped to my door, yours may be the same one, and it comes complete, assembled and adjusted, all new, all i had to do was fill it with grease and bolt it on, man it was worth every penny! and the jubilee in have is grey and... blue! the cast parts were painted ford blue when i bought it years ago and ive kept it that color, i kind of like it

That seems fair enough price. I'll have to save my pennies. My spindles and balljoints etc. are quite bad. Should be a nice winter job.
