However, I can spot a phoney and a fake from 500 miles away and it both saddens and surprises me that so many are not seeing thru this guy's never-ending, unfounded, charismatic babble.

What one is not selling snake oil ? I watched Ted Nugent on the news last night. He said everything comming out of the democtrates and almost everything comming out of the nnalert is making our country worse. He wants to wreck the wellfare state in all its forms, personal, corporate and international. I agree with him completely. I also think bankruptcy regulations should be replaced by debtors prisons. The bankrupt could be joined in jail by those that refuse to pay child support. There would be plenty of jail cells avaliable after we let all the pot users and income tax evaders out.

Allan has always been my hero with his wonderful fabrication and mechanical skills! However, I totally disagree with the policies of Snake Oil Salesman in Chief George Bush. President Bush is not just a salesman but a manufacturer of Snake Oil. The very ideas of pre-emptive war, wire taps, and torture are preposterous and absurd and more befitting Benito Mussolini than an American President. Sen McCain is not a maverick at all but a side kick for for these Un-American principles.

I think that's why everyone is so taken with the lady from the Far North. She seems like a refreshing dose of snake oil antidote, no BS, just kick @$$ and take names. Only possible blemish is the ethics complaint by the former BIL and his supervisor, and everyone with any knowledge of the case says she is on the right side of that brouhaha, as well. More power to her- she can sit in my White House any time. This could get interesting.

I"m an independent and proud of it. I"ll always vote for the best candidate regardless of party.

I could see the smoke screen that Shrub was blowing and didn"t vote for him in either election. He has run our country into the ground. We are hated abroad, we have the largest debt in history, he took us to war with Iraq under false pretenses, he and his crew have weakend our Constitutional rights, and the list goes on-and-on.

If you think for one minute that today"s nnalert are here to help the little guy, you are sadly mistaken. Look at how they vote in the Senate and House. Look at what Shrub has done. They are in league with Big Oil and all of their policies line the pockets of the rich, while the little guy ends up paying more taxes. Look how much Haliburton has raked in over in Iraq for Pete"s sake.

The nnalert want to privatize Social Security--what a bright idea. Have you looked at the Stock Market lately? If they had their way, none of us would have a retirement.

They"ve bailed out the big banks but have not helped the little guy who has been taken to the cleaners by predatory lenders and crooked Credit Card issuers.

Everybody says the nnalert are bad because they want to raise taxes. I"ve got news for ya--somebody has to pay the bill for this stupid War that Bush got us in to. The only county we should have attacked after 911 was Afganistan. PERIOD!

McCain is more of the same. He wants to keep us in Iraq for 100 years if necessary.

We need to get out of Iraq and attend to our crumbling infrastructure, roads, schools, etc. or we won't have a country left.

The DD-214 I'm talking about is my discharge certificate from the Army. No doubt you're right about the ship, too.

You're complaining about the stock market because it went down slighly from it's all time high? Oh, you poor baby. Do you even own any stock? I do. My Exxon stock has doubled in just a few years. No disrespect intended, but being an American living in a foriegn country, you get pretty tired of people that aren't American citizens or tax payers (or veterans for that matter) badmouthing or commenting (advising in general) about the way our country is ran and our elected officials. Bad enough to hear (read) our home grown bellyachers moan, but they are OUR bellyachers and we learn to live with them.

Let's leave it at that. I enjoy reading your posts and hearing how you folks in the Lower UK ( just kidding) are doing things. Religion, politics, and friendships never seem to fit in the same bucket.

PS, I just realized that when I clicked reply on your post, it quoted you and looked like I was singleing you out. Not intentional.

I wasn"t complaining about the stock market per se, rather that idiotic idea of letting people invest in the stock market in lieu of social security.

Most people aren"t financially savvy enough to do so and then there"d be lots of people living on the streets after retirement because they"d have no money.

In the end, the taxpayer would have to bail them out.

Speaking of impeachment, Bush should have been impeached long ago. Unfortunately, none of our elected officials in Congress have the guts to do it. Everything he has touched has been a fiasco.

There was never any intent on anyone's part to place the whole amount into the stock market. The amount proposed was in the single digets, like 1 or 2%? I don't recall the exact amount but it was extremely small. The nnalert made it sound like everyone was going to lose all of their money in the stock market. Heaven forbid they would have to give up even a little bit of control over our money, and it is OUR MONEY.
