Miller welder problem

What would cause a miller welder not to rev up when striking an arc? The motor starts, and idles fine. I applied 12v to the throtle pull down solenoid and the motor reves up ok, so I assume the solenoid is ok. The model is a Miller Legend AEAD-200LE. Thanks for any help. Stan

Stan you probably have a idle control board gone bad in your welder. You can get an owners manual and look at the parts explosion with knowing your serial number and go to www.millerwelds.com click service and then owners manuals. Most of the time it is the soleniod but you have proven it by the fact that power to it equals idle up,. so it must be the board.

We had one that did that and it was a circuit board that had gone bad. It was under warranty so we didn't touch it, just called the welding supply and they brought us a loaner for about 3 days till they brought it back fixed no charge.
Other than that, I couldn't tell you much about it as we have had no further problems with it.
