I bought a new head gasket for my M , on it it says to put sealer by a bolt hole and to retork. My question is do I put sealer on all bolt hole areas or just the one ? Do all bolts need sealer like a car motor? My book tells me nothing on sealer for the head gasket, just tork specs. I thought that head gaskets didnt get sealer , just bolts?

If an M is the same as an H, you don't need any sealer on the bolts or gasket.

Spray both sides of the head gasket with spray cooper and torque it down. Retorque after running awhile.
I have never sealer around the studs. The spray cooper fills in all the imperfections in the surfaces. I spray each side twice and let it tack up before installing.
You will find that alot of people spray them with the cooper. Never had my Super M leak !

14 Ms that Ive rebuilt, never a drop of ANY kind of sealer on them! Come to think of it, I dont think theres ever been one I retorqued that wasnt on the money when I did it. Just my experience.
