LOL but the problem was that more then half where from closed minded people that do not understand we have to fight for our freedom every day not take them for granted

What is funny is that you are actually so disallusioned as to think this whole thing is about freedom. We aren't talking about your boy not being able to pray over his lunch or something that really matters, we were talking about his doing something goofy to get noticed. Glad you are so concerned about the freedoms that really are important.

Freedom is freedom does not matter if its hair or hair length or if they can wear a cross its all the same. If you don't fight for every one of them you loose all of them slow but sure. Just wish people would open there eyes and see instead of closing there minds and only fighting for the big things. If you fight for the small thing like hair color the big thing will be easier to fight for also

We have a student with purple spiked hair and you sorta look the first time you see him, then it's no big deal. The big change and more people looked and talked, when he cut it off.
I sub, if you could get some to sit down and shut up in class or even do any of the work, this would be a bigger accomplishment.

My grandmother born in the late 1800s always thought short hair was odd and crew cuts looked ridiclous because when she grew up all the men had long hair and beards.The more things change the more they stay the same

Also never got answer back does he go with you on your tractor searches etc and when you trying to sell tractors looking like that. It sure sounds like you to don't do much together but I hope I am wrong. I know if I had an employee with red hair it would really get the stares and not help my business reputation. FIRST IMPRESSIONS really effect business more than you realize. i have to really work at keeping my place cleaned up because of the daily in out traffic. It has made a hugh difference. Its no different than having metal hanging out of ears or tongue or your nose but you see that all time also. Its not for me good luck. If people can't take you as your were born then that is there problem yes,but I don't get adding to it just to get atttention.

How about the many men who dye their hair the same soot black color?

Now please start thinking rationally about this.

Anyone can pray in school - it's a private conversation between them and God. Unless (whatever your demonized group might be) has a working mind-reading machine they won't even know.

I've had a woman work for me off and on for the past few years. Best employee I've ever had. Super nice and an easy conversationalist with the customers, always on time, strong as an ox, willing to load a wagon an hour by herself behind the baler, and a CDL so she can handle delieries and such. She also has a different hair color every week (pink, purple, red with black tips, etc) and usually shaved one side or the other plus lots of tattoos, and piercings.

I know some folks did a double take, its still a novalty to see women doing field work around here. But, within 3 months, she had gotten a nickname (pinkie) and has been accepted as a fixture here.

Given the choice between someone who looks different, punked out, etc but is clean and sober on the job. Or someone that looks normal but who's drinking or doping on the job, someone who's immigration status is questionable, or someone who comes to work nasty I'll take the clean and sober person every time.

No he does not go with me very often but that because I have a partner that does go with me, so hes not needed. But at the tractor shows we go to hes there and in my web site hes the one driving the JD-B

You say be honest well I don't care what a person looks like, it there choice. I don't care if a person is black red green pink has hair no hair long hair red hair green hair. I don't look at a person and see what he or she is I get to know the person to know who they are. Skin color or hair color does not make a person good or bad. I my self have long hair and in the winter a bread. Some times I shave some times I go for a week with out shaving. Does that also mean that I'm wrong because I don't feel like keeping my face clean shaven all the time.

Ah-ha...that's it right there. HOW DARE YOU EVER SAY YOUR CHILD IS NOT NEEDED!!!!!!!!!!!! That really proves to me this was an attention getting scheme if his dad has that kind of mentality. Shame shame.

You should want your child to be part of everything you do. It's not about needing him, it's about wanting him. Your partner should be getting the boot, not your son. Way to go!

Not needed as in he does not want to go most of the time and also its not often hes around to go with me. He does help when it comes to baling hay and chores on the farm. Like yesterday I picked up a 1939 Ford 9N but he was in school so he could not go and thats how it is most of the time when I go to get a tractor. Guess I should have worded it different

This reminds me of a job interview I had once. The owner of the company told me that we have a strict dress code and beards are not allowed. I told him sorry, but if you want me to work here you'll have to hire my beard too. I ended up getting the job anyway, been here almost a decade.
I'm not sure I would have wanted to work somewhere that was that strict on appearances anyway. I don't have a beard to get attention though, it only attracts negative comments anyway (e.g. you look like a criminal, hobo, terrorist, etc.). The fact is, I'm just "attached" to it.
