Replacing a Hydraulic Cylinder

When replacing a double action hydraulic cylinder do you have to bleed the cylinder or anything after install. First one me and dad are trying to rebuild. Thanks for the help.

99% of the time working them to full open and full closed will bleed them out on there own. I have never bleed one yet other then doing that to them

Not as a rule, cycling the cylinder fully in each direction 2 or 3 times usually does the trick...........be sure you do this before you depend on the cylinder to hold a load!!
