GN John Deere

1,522 Late styled (between SN# 26000-64530) "GN" tractors were built.

It is impossible to tell how many "GN" tractors were built in 1953, or any other year.

Thank you, my friend sent in his serial # and found out that his was originally a GN. It has a wide front on it now. Would it be worth more as a N or leave the wide front on it? He does have a N front. Thank you- Gary

It wouldn't matter anyway. Split pedestal "G" tractors are MEANT to have interchangable front ends.

According to two cylinder my friends was built as a GN. He sent the serial number to them. I don't know- How about model 50's. I have a 1953 model 50 with single front tire_ Gary

ALLLL styled "G" tractors had the OPTION of a split pedestal... THESE tractors were dubbed EITHER the "GW" or "GN". "G" tractors could be ordered without the split pedestal, as well.

Once again, there are no records to show how many model 50 tractors were produced with a single front end... keep in mind these are INTERCHANGEABLE... therefore there is no real sense in recording what had what on the frontend since ANYONE can change it if they so wished.

These kind of questions are on the same order as "What are the differences between unstyled and styled", "How do I check the oil on my A", "How do I adjust the wheels on my 60", "I have a 45 loader with Serial number 1", and all the other questions that these yuppie, wanna bee farmers, and small time gardeners who never had any experience with a 2 cylinder JD until the tooth fairy left one in their driveway.
