2390 case engine dies?

without knowing what a 2390 case is, i'd think its some faulty switch somewhere. Just thinking out loud

if its a powershift, when you depress the clutch, the trans is shifted into low gear.I suspect a valve in the powershift control on the left side of the trans is sticking and you wind up in two gears at the same time

What two gears do you think are sticking R & 1 or 1 & 2 Do you think that could be adjusted by the screw on the top of the clutch?? Just thinking

Go to the Case board, Turbo and Mel can help you. Twopop is right...but it's a bit more complex than that. The powershift uses clutch packs (operated by the valve assembly), and you have too many trying to engage at once. On the 12 speed tractors, two clutch packs operate per gear. In your case, three are trying to operate at the same time.

Actually they are more from the 80's and rated at 160 horse. Quite a low rating though as most dynoed over and were just plain brutes.

1980's tractor. Not necessarily white in color. The latest models had grey body and red wheels.
