I bush hogged some weeds and clover 2 days ago, then yesterday I noticed a group of turkey vultures in the field. I found what looked like the body of a cat that must have been hiding in the grass when I was cutting. However, upon closer inspection, the two front feet are extra long and have paddles on them, not paws or claws. The rear foot look like cat's feet, as does the head. So what is it???

Beats the hell out of me.....call the F&G people and have them come get the carcass. How far are you from Area 51? Hehehe!

Nice try, but I submit that it's a fake. Notice that "arm" on the bottom of the picture has one more bone than the top one. ie, the close-up photo is the arm with the extra bone. Looks like a cat carcass, and those "paddles" are the clavicles from another critter.

Sure looks like a cat to me. Some of those feral cats can grow long legs. I killed one one year that if I held him up by the hind legs his front feet touched the ground. Doubt he ever saw the inside of a barn.

Put a wash pan over it to prevent "theft" take a flesh sample in a baggie and freeze it. Take more pictures. Call a major university Biology depertment for analysis.
If a hoax, don't do that. They look like shoulder blades.
If no hoax, the thing lived to the aparent age.

If both front feet were ripped out of the chest cavity, and partially turned inside out, the paws would be in the position they are, and the shoulder blades would be on the wrong ends, and the "assembly" would be longer. JimN

I would have to agree. The front legs have been removed and placed with the shoulder blades facing out instead of in (I'm not accusing anyone of manipulating the body)
