Human Running Speed...MPH?

The fastest speed of a human running was set by Maurice Greene, who achieved a sprint speed of 26.7 mph.

Note that is anaerobic: the highest sustained speed is just over 15 miles an hour - i.e. a 4 minute mile.
So the first is the limit of the legs, the second the limit of the heart.

Don't know about that...but was watching those dudes in weight lifting at lunch...sure could use a couple of them next time I split a tractor.

If you have a Garmin portable gps you can check your own an can measure your distance. Mine not so great these days. Can also check you tractor speeds.

It seems to me that they're running a 100 M track in something like ~9.5 seconds... That equates to 37.8 km/h or ~23.7 mph.
