leakig valve???

Hey folks.
I just bought a quad. Chinese model with a Yamaha motor. Runs fine, but doesn't idle the best (worse when warm). Just got it yesterday so haven't had time to fool with it. Tried the old thing of a paper on the exhaust (sucks in a little). Could a valve be burned? Or, since it seems to get worse as it heats up, could it be just a tappet adjustment? It's a 250 cc. Supposed to be the sister to a yamaha bear tracker. Bike itself is a Jianshe Puma . nAny tips would be appreciated.

Sorry bud,i got the impression you just bought it new.i read my post, was kinda rude.i ain't to much in favor of most of the chinese stuff. It usually gives lots of trouble.
you could have a stuck or bend valve, take valve cover of and tap the valve to see if it moves freely against the spring,if there is exsessive clearance of the rocker, then the valve could be bend.

Thanks. I got it used for an OK price. Chinese is about all that is affordable here in Germany and this having the Yamaha motor and supposed to be a close copy of the rest of the bike, I thought it'd be OK to beat around on and see if it's something that I'd invest in. It's main job will be pulling a harrow around a pasture that is actually an orchard (tractor won't fit under the trees). I'll try what you said.

Thanks,

Dave
