Hydra pump priming

The hy pump on my 400 IHC lost ist's prime. How do I go about priming it? Thanks all.

if my 350 loses prime,all i have to do is loosen the pressure line to let the air out and start the motor.then it primes itself.

Hydraulic pumps are self priming if you lost prime then check to see where the leak is in the pickup or the pump is worn and needs to be rebuilt. Also check to see if someone has put the wrong gasket in the pump they require a very thin onion skin gasket. some actually have no gasket.

Got it.Loosend the hex plug on top of pump, not all the way out, started the tractor and magic, shut the tractor off and tightened the plug and away we went.

YEP! the pump is worn out that's why it won't self prime by giving it a way to exhaust the air without pressure on the system you were able to prime it but you will be doing this until you get tired of it and then get the pump rebuilt.
