Can anyone advise if these tractors are any good or if there are any potential problems that I should look for. I'm looking at purchasing one and am not very familiar with these machines.

This one has a pto and shuttle shift with a v8 Cat 210 HP engine with 6500 hours.

Any info would be greatly appreciated!!
 
Good tractors. Try to check if regular Maint was performed. Main and rod bearings every 2500 hours. There are some updates in the hinge area. Most of these have been done. They are a higher maintenance tractor than a two wheel drive with front wheel assist. We only use ours around 50 hours a year, but I don't think it will leave. With duals all the way around it almost floats.
 
I agree these are good tractors. I farmed with one back in the late 70's on a dairy I worked on. I really liked the fact that it did not beat you to death in rough ground, we did not have duals and it still seem to float compare to a two wheel drive tractor. In four years i worked for this man I can only remember one thing going wrong and that was the A/C went out during planting season.
 
Thanks for the info. I'm reluctant cause these tractors are rare in these parts. The cat engines are sleeveless so if there's a piston problem the motor could quickly become a boat anchor.
