Can anyone tell me which is the number 1 piston on the engine

The #1 cylinder is the cylinder nearest to the front.

That would be the front cylinder.

Where did you buy this tractor? 1953 was the first jubilee!

Well it is true there where Jubilees made in 1952 but none are really called a 1952 tractor. So do you in fact have a Jubilee or is your tractor an 8N?? Either way the cylinder at the front of the engine is #1 or the one by the radiator. That is also true on 99% of all in line engines
