help with stuck lift

I have a Ferguson 40 with the lift stuck in the up position. I have had a backhoe on it for years with the arms removed and the lift in the up position. Now I can’t get it to lower. I have tried prying it down with a bar and I have tied one arm to a tree and tried to pull it down. Neither worked. I would appreciate any suggestions.

Perhaps the lift cylinder has rusted stuck in the up position?

Try draining a bit of the oil. Check to see if it has water in the oil. If its milky then it has water and that could cause your problem. Saw it happen in an 8N years ago.

"I have tied one arm to a tree and tried to pull it down." Have you tried pulling it down with both arms? Have you checked to see if control valve is stuck?
