I hate the current TV show garbage.
But.....The old shows are great.
Like,

Hawaii 5-0
Andy Griffith
Gunsmoke
Bonanza
Adam-12
Kojak
Rockford files
Dragnet
And of course Bugs bunny....Cartoons of today
cant hold a candle to Bugs and Tom and Jerry.

Chime in if you can add to this list.

Shows my wife liked,
The Love boat....That show sucked
Fantasy Island......Also sucked
She likes other 80's shows that were crap too.

It is sad that TV of today is poorly written
(Thank God for TV land) I really dont watch much TV I just like the old shows.

How about Have Gun Will Travel?

Gunsmoke
Wyatt Earp
Lawrence Welk? Not!!!!
Green Acres cause it's tractor related

Larry in Michigan

Its because the so-called "Reality Shows" can still get advertising $$$ without shelling out 6 figure plus per episode saleries for the talent, cause there is none!...just my opinion...OCG

Twilight zone.......Awesome show.
Bionic man...Corny but good story lines.
Mr. Ed.....also corny but very funny.

Red Skeleton, Northern Exposure.(probably my favorite) I loved that fat indian girl character& the old lady store keeper. The Ed Sullivan Show? naw.

Wild west
Bonanza
gunsmoke
Duke of Hazzard( or was it Shorts of Daisy)
Have gun will travel
Happy Days
Married with Children
Andy Griffith
Little house on the prairie
The fall guy.
Bj McKay and his best friend Bear.
Mash
Tour of Duty
The Waltons

As I kid I loved "Land of the lost" The original series one

The A team
Magnum PI
Of course.. Baa Baa Black Sheep!!
Blue Thunder
Six Million dollar man
All in the family
In the heat of the night
Simon and Simon
the lone ranger
Rawhide

Darn thats just a short list. TV today is terrible. Why doesnt TV land take all these shows and get back on the air.

I loved watching most of the ones already listed. One I didn't see on any of the lists was Hogans Heros. If you didn't like anything else about the show you couldn't help but love Sgt. Shultz.

I detest the current crop of so-called comedians who think they can't possibly be funny unless they're using four letter words or referring to bodily functions.

When our daughter visited last month, she watched a TV show she said was the funniest show she had ever seen. I thought it was utterly stupid and without a point. And she's a history major.

It's too bad this generation will apparently never know guys like Red Skelton, Don Knotts, and others who could leave you in stitches without ever saying anything you wouldn't repeat in front of your preacher.

agree on your first sentence

If up to me that @%$#& TV would be in the trashbin long time ago.

Wife watches stupid sitcoms and stupid house renovating shows for lack of worse.
TLC and DISC ch used to be good, carbidge now too.

Crocodile hunter, till he bought the farm was my favorite.
widlife shows,mostly reruns these days
glenn beck

"Adventures in Paradise", "Maverick", "WKRP in Cincinnati", "Gunslinger", starring Tony Young, the actor, not Tony Young, the fighter.

Roy Rogers,Rin Tin Tin,The Real McCoys,Superman,Alfred Hitchcock,Night Gallery,Star Trek,The Wild Wild West,Emergency,Twilight Zone,Lassie,Mister ED,Munsters,Adams Family,Perry Mason,My Favorite Martian,Get Smart,Jesse James,Roadrunner/Coyote cartoons.

HEY,there's a show on WGN,Wednesday nites at 8pm eastern called Corner Gas. I LOVE that show! Best rural/small town humor since Andy Griffith. If you haven't seen it and think they don't make shows like that anymore, you're in for a pleasant surprise.

I had a thought about this the othe night. My daughter gave me a subscription to Netflix and I have been picking the old favorite shows. One of the first I got was Black Sheep Squadron. While watching it, I thought about just what it must have taken to put that show on. They used real airplanes for a lot of the scenes, the actors were good, it had some drama, some comedy, and some history all in one show. I can't stand to watch any of the so called comedies on now or the reality shows are a real waste of time.

Actually, there are some pretty good shows currently on TV. I really enjoy the original CSI...really like "Burn Notice" and "The Riches"....
and hate to admit it, but " 2 and a Half Men" just cracks me up.

Best ever, though- "Johnny Quest". LOVED that cartoon!

Green Acres, Yeah ,... And , What Kinda tractor was that , AVERY ? SILVER KING ?.. I have the 69 Mercury Convertible Like Oliver had and a wife like Lisa , Except, She is Sicilian , Folks that Know us well and Love Us refered to us as the Green Acres couple right After we got married 4 yrs back

You folks are doing extremely well on this list. But how about "The Victory Garden" when Roger Swain & Peter Seabrook were on, followed by "This Old House." "The Red/Green Show". Packers playing in the Ice Bowl?
I did kind of like bumper stickers saying "Kill Your Television." Mark SW Wis.

Hehehe.....well, after learning that Raymond Burr was a homo, Perry Mason and Ironside just don"t seem right any longer!

That show was terrible, bad acting, bad actors and to make a show about an inner city junk yard was pretty bad.

Annie Oakly, Sky King, Lone Ranger,

We haven't had TV for 10 years, just enjoy the Show on here, some comedians some drama, and just enough jerks to make us really appreciate the good guys. Thanks for the entertainment and the good information.

Well I am astounded that up til NOW everyone has missed the best show ever to hit the airwaves

The Beverly Hillbillies !!!

Airwolf

Dukes of Hazzard (Since I was only 5 years old when the show started, Daisy wasn"t the main attraction for me, it was definately the General Lee! That is the coolest car ever!)

Naaaa.
They haven't mentioned Red Skelton (KlemKadiddlehopper), Ed Sullivan(Oh Eddie), The Thin Man (PeterLawford/IdaLupino), Jackie Gleason(ALICE, onna these dayx!!),M.I.C-K.E.Y ,Dick Clark Bandstand, The Rifleman (Paw), Friday nite fights, OOPsss , then i woke up. Back to today.

Way back when. Newton Minnow FCC director,I believe, stated that television is a vast waste land.
That could not be more true today, nothing but a advertising media. 33 minuets of programing per hour. No wonder the wife loves the DVR.

I'll start with the westerns:

Maverick
Bonanza
Have gun will travel
Wagon Train
Rifleman
Lawman
Branded
Sugarfoot
The Virginian
Gunsmoke
Wyatt Earp
Rawhide
The Big Valley
Alias Smith & Jones
Bronco
Roy Rogers & Dale Evans
Gene Autry show

There is probably more but these westerns come to mind right now.

Well I read the post with all the replies and I must say I think all the good shows where mentioned. I sat here reading and thinking about all those shows and the only problem I have with the list of shows is this. I can remember all of them, ( that's good ) but the reason I remember them is because of my age, I've seen them and that's the problem, like the shows I'm getting old. ( LOL )

liked most of the shows listed. didnot see dean martin show laugh-in or the high chapperal(sp.?) there was also a show i used to watch after school tried to describe to others no one seems to remember it think it was called the monroes present shows i like are king of the hill and the 70s show

Read through this post and did see a couple favorites mentioned...and if I missed my favorite I appologize in advance...

When I was a young'n, back in the 70's, thinking back it seemed that my life's career ambitions were usually based off what we got on our one TV channel.....(no, I wasn't ever planning to be a grouch that lived in a trash can, no matter what my kids might tell ya about the way I live now!)

First off....I was gonna be a fighter pilot...and none of those new-fangled jets either....WW2 planes all the way, thanks to Baa Baa Black Sheep. (bought the 33rpm record with the theme song even).

Next on the list...I was gonna be a trucker. Thanks of course to the one show I haven't seen mentioned here, "Movin On".....and added to by the show "BJ and the Bear"(which has been referred to below.....just think...a trucker with a monkey...why can't tv have such quality now???) Oh, by the way, I also had the 33rpm record, done by the great Merle Haggard, of the theme song to "Movin On".

After those two, and maybe it was due to advancing age, I just never again made a carreer desicion based on a tv show.....no, wait....I became a mechanic....er, uh, "auto technician", and probably the original "Dukes of Hazzard" helped influence that, although at that point I was already into cars. I will say though, that the Duke boys' "bootleg turns" in that ol' Charger almost influenced me to the point of not being influenced anymore......let's just say, that when running wide-open down a gravel road on a Honda 3-wheeler, ya can't just lock the brakes and slide her sideways like they did with that Mopar.....wound up about 15 endoverends later with the thing on it's side and me under it with the footpeg sticking in my back....no broken bones but a good bit of bark peeled off.....ahh, the good old days!!!!!

I remember watching hee haw, the lawrence welk show(YUCK) with my grandparents. What about wild kindom and the good old walt disney-movies, cartoons, and editoriols about wildlife? Those were great! I miss the tuesday night lineup too-Happy Days, Lavern & Shirley, Three's Company, Taxi, and Heart to Heart!!! Of course my bedtime was 8:00 so I had to be sneaky to watch the others.

man, I forgot about good old kevin Arnold.
That show was just like my life in Springfield, va in the 60s...except my Winnie was a blonde

I was a huge Jack Web Fan as a "Tween" so I never missed Dragnet, ADAM 12, or Emergency. I have most of the old Dragnet radio shows of the 50"s on cassette, and listen in on Sunday nights.

Do you suppose that when the show "Hee Haw" first appeared, It was greeted by West Virginians as "educational TV"?
Today's sitcoms are pure garbage. The "reality shows" are "getting old". When tv included the shows shown in the long posted list, it was worth watching.
