i just purchased a 250 as by belarus and was wondering if anyone knew where to check the hydrolic fluid level and what kinda fluid it should use, it is suppost to have power steering and it dont seem to be that great and the loader seems to move kinda slow, thought this might be the first step to my elimination problems thanks Robert

Try to get a manual, a friend of mine has a large Belarus (not sure what the number is), he loves it.
Did you ask on the Belarus forum?

Most are checked under the hood, right in front of the steering wheel. You should have a sight glass on side of hood that u can see.Mine uses 20 or 30 wt oil.

The hyd oil is checked and filled under the operator platform at the back of the tractor. On top of the housing there is a fairly large plug that screws out. There is a little dipstick next to it,but it is just as easy to take the big plug out and stick your finger in there and if its on the tip of your finger its OK.Use a straight 30 wt oil,do not use hyd oil, because the Belarus hyd clearences are so poor light oil won't work well. These tractors do not flow a lot of hyd oil. There should be a flow divider next to the hyd pump on the right side of the transmission. This steals half the flow for the p.s.The rest goes to the tractor for the loader and other. These tractors were originally not designed for loader or p.s. appliactions as these are American add ons. Also on top of the hydraulic pump there should be a small cylinder shaped housing. This is an add on hyd filter that can be unscrewed on one end and the element inside can be taken out and cleaned.Might help your hyd flow a little bit.
