Received this email today. I guess once I send him my bank details I'll be rolling in it.

Dear ,

I am Sarra Tano Emile from Ivory Coast(Cote d'ivoire). I am an orphan being that I lost my parents during the crises in my country. My father late Yao Tano Emile was a serving director of the Cocoa exporting board until his death .

He was assassinated by the rebels following the political uprising. Before his death he told me he had three million Usa Dollars (US $3,000,000) deposited here in Abidjan, Cte dIvoire in a Bank .

My father told me , the three million us dollars was meant for investment in Europe before his untimely death. I have all the documents including the certificate of deposite of the fund in the Bank which my father handed over to me when he was at the hospital. He instructed me to look for a foreign partner who will help me to receive the money in (his or her) country and also assist me to come over to his country to continue with my education and also help me to locate a profitable investment that will be profitable to both of us till I finish with my education and join him or her in the investment he might have established with the money the time I was in school . I do not know anything concerning business investment at present.

I will be more than happy if you accept my request to help me and receive the money into your account in your country or any safer place as the beneficiary and recipient of the fund on my behalf.

I have plans for investments in your country. This is my reason for writing you. Please if you are willing to assist me as an orphan who does not have hope of any family , indicate your interest in replying soonest. Thanks

Best regards .

Sarra .

His father will never know I'm not in Europe.
WoW My Lucky Day.

My family has a history of having our ship come in-the Titanic, Lusitania, Edmund Fitzgerald, Indianapolis, to name a few.

There's another scam going around whereby you're emailed that someone has put out a contract on you and you need to pay to have it called off.

Reading these scam emails with their broken-glass English and their hilariously unbelievable pie-in-the-sky giveaways is about the only entertainment I can afford these days...

Last one of them I got the feller was paid $50,000 to kill me but changed his mind, if I paid him the money back in 24 hours he would let me live.

I wander what % of thier e-mails get a bite?

Funny you should ask. In the last year or so, the controller of the city of Alpena, Michigan sent hundred of thousands of dollars of the city's money somewhere on one of these Nigeria scams. Hard to believe a supposedly intelligent person (accountant) would fall for that. I think the guy is in prison now.

There's also a website that has pictures of these scammers doing crazy things. Pretty funny. Hewe's how it works: Someone will get a scam email. They will string the scammer along promising to send the money and basically sounding like they are falling for the scam. They'll ask them to send pix of themselves holding signs that say "I am an idiot" or standing on one foot holding a banana in their ear. Stuff like that. Supposedly to authenticate that the scammer is a real person communicating with the "scammee". Then they'll post the stuff on the Internet.

My boat sank the moment it rolled of the dock.

I got an email from a lawyer in spain, stating i was the only person with the same last name of a accident victem in that country that left an estate worth 10 million, that could be found.
the lawyer asked to put up 10% in order to execute the paperwork and auction cost.i never believed that scoundrel.
I replied to that saying.Sell the stuff, take of what you need and send me the remainder.

That was 3 yrs back

Sorry I got the same message last week and I waiting for the money to arrive. Surprised they sent one to you when I already claimed the money. Tell you what, send me $1000 and I'll cut you in. OK?

I used to work for a couple of corporate detectives (greatest job I ever had). That was before the days of email (uh-oh, telling my age). I had a drawer full of these scam letters. FBI had a room full. They want you to put up money to open a joint account, then they take the money. They must get some bites or they wouldn't be doing it anymore.

I really hated the ones that claimed to be Christians and were using God's name to try and steal from others.
