might go through iowa/illinois on vacation -

where is a good oliver history place or minneapolis moline museum -

otherwise what would be the one best ag museum that you know of?

if your going by sigourney the dupont museum is there, also the floyd county historical society in charles city, also the farm toy museum is in dyersville

Roger Mohr at Vail Ia. and Charles Wisecup at Missouri Valley Iowa for M&M equipment and tractors.Charlies is right off I 29 and Mohr is on highway 30 these to roads intersect at Missouri Valley.

IF you're passing thru northern Indiana on your way (I80). You can stop in South Bend and tour the Oliver mansion and Studebaker museum. Unfortunately there isn't much tractor/farm stuff there but some history. The Oliver Powerhouse is still standing which is all that's left of the factories except maybe (??????) one or 2 other of the later buildings. A few more of the Stude buildings are looking like they may come down too.

Farm Progress Show is at Boone, Iowa, about August 26 - 28. Two years ago at Amana there were a few rows of vintage tractors, and lots of the very latest equipment.

The Dumont Museum in Sigourney Iowa is a great place.Buildings full of Oliver tractors, toys, boat motors, patio lawn tractors, old vehiches and wagons used in Hollywood movies and a large collection of Roy Rogers memory's.Lyle and Helen were personal friends of Roy and Dale Evans.Complete series of tractors such as the Fleetlines where all tractors are displayed.Frontwheel assist models and just about every tractor Oliver ever made is there. You can easily spend a complete day and not see it all.Lyle and Helen are great hosts also. All the tractors are restored with a few Farmalls and MM's also there.Admisson was 8 bucks when we we there last year,a great bargain. Its a good ideal to call ahead to make sure its open the day you arrive.

In my opinion you will not find a better place to view old MM than at West Amana Colonies. Norman Shantz has spent a lot of time and Money keeping these old machines shining. We stop at the Colonies when ever we pass by on I 80.First stop is Shantz Furniture at South Amana then north to West Amana and the MM exhibit at the Broom Shop then to Amana for lunch at the Oxen Restaurant. We enjoy spending a little Vacation time there.

Forgot to mrntion that the Amana colonies are in Central Iowa just north of I 80 Hiway between Iowa City and Newton Ia.

If you happen to be going through Gilmore City Iowa stop in at the garden nursery on the east end of town and ask to see mainerd weimers mm collection. It"s pretty impressive. And on the 8th I think the thrashers show in albert city is a lot of fun.

Never been there myself, but am told that their are 2 tractor museums in Griswold Iowa (south and east of Omaha). One is AC and one is MM. Greg
