Recently our water has been tasting rather funny,so I sent a sample to have it tested.Today I got the results back,I don't quite understand it but they said my horse will probably live but we should'nt work him for a few days.

does it have a sulphur smell to it? or, you may need to sterilize the well. our well guy said to at least one a year pull the well cap down, dump a gallon of chlorox bleach in the well, let it set overnite. the next morning run the water hose until the bleach smell goes away, usually about an hour.

I have never thought it would be necessary to leave the Clorox Bleach in the well over night --- and hour or two at most will do the trick --- and then run the water till it test clear -- that works for me anyway ...

My well would be considered a cesspool if it weren't for the filtration system I have to maintain. I have filters for the smell, the little critters that live in the well, the sand, and oil. If I used it straight, real red water with oilish colors on top. Plus I have a softener that I use salt pellets with iron remover in it. another tank just to automatically chlorinate it. Must be in a mine can't run it dry. I envy anyone that has usable drinkable water without the problems I have.
