OT-Soybean Aphids

Anyone spraying for them yet? Population is really exploding here in SE MN. No rain for 2 1/2 weeks and hot and dry weather really makes them reproduce.

No aphids here in central IL that I've heard of. We have had alot warm and wet weather. Many people spraying fungicides. Took a couple of pics while mowing today. The corn just couldnt look any better. All of this warm humid weather is uncomfortable for us but great of growing corn.

If you have the Asian Lady Beetle then likely there are aphids as that is why uou have so many beetles. The beetles eat aphids, not the plants.

Sprayed aphids along w a fungicide by plane late last week on 950A. Pop'ns were escalating, especially if field near a wooded area. More insecticide choices now, some with 30-day control, so why wait until yield is lost? Populations naturally decline in late August, so that is within the 30 days of control.

Super wet and humid--perfect conditions for disease, so added a fungicide AND the best "sticker" available to protect against wash-off by rain.

We're spraying here in NW Iowa. My beans had about 30 per plant yesterday so I'm on the list to have them sprayed. It'll be about five days till the sprayer comes. Gonna use Warrior and Quilt. Jim
