Cost to replace shocks on F250 4X4?

Noticed passenger side rear shock starting to leak this evening. Anyone have a guess what a shop will charge to replace all four shocks? Should I have all four replaced or just the rear ones, (thinking of all four to avoid further hassles down the road). Current shock on is OEM Ranchero, which I understand is made by Monroe.
Also any advice you can give would be appreciated. We dont have the space or tools to do it ourselves. Thanks

PS The F250 is 2004 model year, extended cab if that makes any difference. Has about 73,000 miles on it, shocks appear all rusty, and leak appears to be coming from a small split in the shock itself. Thanks again

If you can do it yourself, do it. Its not hard at all. The shocks themselves are cheap and a very easy install. I take it you mean Rancho and the brand of shock currently on it. Stick with them, I run them on my 150 and like them a lot. I have the 9 position adjustable ones.

Joanie, All according to your budget, convenience. If you can change a spark plug, you probably can change a shock. Exception being if it is buried. Is this your only transportation and do you need to drive it all the time. Labor around here in Mich is 80 bucks an hour. If shock is broken physically, have it changed and watch. Bet you will do the rest yourself or at least have time to think about it. Had a buddy that worked a shop only changed shocks. They allowed him 15 minutes per shock. What type of driving are you doing? Might break a new one. Lotta mechanics would say change em all. But its your money and time.

I would guess around $500-700. Figure $200-300 for the shocks and the rest for labor. I put a new set of over load shocks on my 1980 Chev and just the shocks for the rear where $100 no labor

Truck shocks are easy to get at.Check shock prices at a parts store.Truck shocks cost a bit more and you will have a choice of shocks,I would go for one in the medium price range.I would not change all shocks because one is leaking.Ive seen shocks that had the shield tube rusted off and were still working. The labor charge in garages has gotten out of hand and the labor charges are often padded. My friend lost a brake line on his pickup.Cost 100.00 at a dealer garage.I got a look at the repair later it was a shoddy job. They left the old line in place.I replaced a line on my Ford pickup a few months ago, cost 4.00 for the line.Took me 15 minutes. You can find a small garage that does good work at reasonable prices but you will have to look hard.

If it is anything like a 2000 F250, the rears are easy to change, the fronts can be a bear, the top bolts are kinda hard to get to becasuse of inner fender shield. Mine is also a 2wd if that makes any differance.
