Perryville,Mo. tractor ride

Just want to say thank you to any of the club members or others who helped putting the ride on. This was my first year to it (my dad's 4th) And it was great! Everything seemed well organized and the entertainment and food were great as well. Looking forward to being there next year!
And if anyone reading this knows who it was handing out the popsicles let them know THANK YOU!!!!

Jeff,

Was not there but did attend the Great Buckeye Tractor Cruise in Ohio on Sat. It was a first time experience for most all involved myself included. I have one question for you, how fast and how far did the tractor ride go. Sorry for not answering your question.

Well like i said dad has been 4 years and this year it was I think they said 36 miles. Dad has been on them up to 41 miles I think. They want the tractors to run a minumum of 8 mph. We were running from 8 to 12 during the first leg but some of the tractors were running hard to keep up so the rest of it was right at 8 mph. We made about 3 stops on the route with the second one being for lunch.

Wasn't too bad at all. They had service trucks from the local tractor dealers following each group in case of problems and I think 2 tire dealer service trucks. Very well organized ride. I can't remember how long they have been doing it but I know it was longer than the 4 years that dad has been going.

How was your ride? How far was it?

The ride I was part of was a 40 mile round trip and we were on the road driving over 6 hours. We traveled much too slow to suit me and that is my only complaint. The pace setting tractor was a John
Deere L and they only have 3 forward gears. The ride organizers stipulated that all tractors must be able travel 12 mph, they should have stuck to that. At least it did not rain and my ride performed as expected and made me proud form start to the slow race finish.

We will definatly be back.:)I'm bringing mt Oliver 77 nest year though. That 3020 isn't geared right for it really. Was almost idleing in 8th and not quite enough in 7th :) WEll Ok I just plain like my 77 better.. LOL!

The group that put this one on stipulated 8 mph I think for the tractors and stuck to it. Like I said they did a great job and am looking forward to going again. Might let someone in the club that put it on know about your thoughts on it as I know with our club and shows we are always looking for ideas and things to improve them.
