Brooks Oregon Steam Up

So did any one make it to Brooks Oregon for the steam show ? I saw lots of younger people, then there normaly is , big crowd for first day , good show !!

I also attended the Brooks Steam-up and as always is a great show. Nice to see young people taking an interest in the show. There were three young boys pitching bundles at every threshing machine demonstration. Then after emptying the bundle wagon, they would go right over and help on the stationary baler to bale the straw. Two other young fellas were helping at the steam powered sawmill. All of these boys not only were willing to work but they were willing to learn how things work. The weather was hot but it didn't seem to slow these boys down. Just nice to see that the young are taking an interest in these lost arts.

Dick that young guy on the boiler in the saw mill, with the black shirt also help rebuilt the boiler.took out pipes, cut new one to size. Fred Schutz [maybe spelled wrong ]put most of them back in, I helped a little
