Tornadoes in NH

Cant believe it,tornadoes wiped out bout 12 houses near Derry New Hampster this afternoon.Getting some wicked rain here in Maine right now,2 minutes of sunshine then more downpours.Weird weather. Hoss

Did you see the radar and the system that came through NY ? All day soaker, yesterday starting with a thunderstorm early a.m., one of the buckets outside was about 1/2 full, this morning it was just about topped off, we had to recieve rain in the inches. Warm humid air followed, over in NH there must have been a squall line and that southern prevaling wind mixed with the northern air, was the 10 year anniversary of a F-3 that wiped out a bunch of houses here, we're about 25 miles from the VT border, storms were not that volatile. I'm really wondering how the 2 fields of oats stood up to this, they are ripe and need to go, always something.

That thing packed a lot of a rain, I see we are back to the wet weather patterns again, '07 was as close to perfection as you can get with the weather. There was more than one front lined up, the last one passed around noon today, rained out for 2 days now, sun is finally out, and yet I see more out there, hope it passes us !

I have not been down to look, no real nasty winds, just heavy soaking rains, I'm hoping its still up, was a really nice stand in there, was looking forward to seeing my neighbor who planted it, getting the harvest in, also some nice straw in there which always has a market here. Hopefully I'll get some final scrapbook photos of it ready to harvest, this field has been in crops well over 100 years, which may change, those photos will be wall hangers for me.

That storm hit here in MD last night. Some areas were hit with strong wind and heavy rain. Some lost power. I had 4.25" in the rain gauge.
We really needed a good soaker. Hal
PS: I have a man in NH that post's on the IH forum and I get email from him. I need to send him a note.

I live in Balto. county.. I saw that storm develop and lightening was everywhere, but at least there was no wind.

I live close to Derry NH. the worst damage was about 15 miles north 1 dead 15 injured 30-50 houses damaged. It used to be comforting knowing that we didn't have to worry about tornadoes.

I'm figurin' you must be down in the southern or maybe over on the western part of the state. I'm up on the western side of Penobscot Bay, and it's been just dclouds and damp just short of a drizzle all day.

Been watchin' the radar all afternoon. Didn't catch the evenin' news, but it looks like a front that's right on a lne with the ME/NH border is causin' the ugly stuff to break up over that way.

It blew over a big tree in Aberdeen, but we didn't have any wind. Had more wind on Tueday night and very little rain. Hal

Yes it has been.

Looks like I won't get much more then 3" out of it, depending what pops up over night. Low side of the 3-5" with isolated spots of 8" they were predicting out of this storm.

Just a weird one...you'd have narrow bands of rain moving slowly west-to-east but with soaking rains shooting south-to-north along 'em.
