Woods 3240 20' Batwing

Does anyone here have any experience with a woods 3240 batwing? We are considering a nice used one to replace our B320 that is tired and worn out. I would be pulling it with an Allis Chalmers 7000 (no front end weights) or a Ford 7610 (around 500 lbs front end weights). Would these tractors handle the 2000 lbs drawbar weight? I am not looking for a color war of batwings. I am just looking for info about this batwing. I loved their older batwings, wondering if the new ones are as good or better

2000 lbs for either should not be a problem on the drawbar.

I pull a Woods 15 footer with a 560 and get along fine with no front weights.

It probably weighs 1200-1500 on the drawbar.

The 7000 is much heavier than the 560 on the front.

I used to sell Woods and I'm thinking you'll be OK but there is always crossing ditches or creeks and so forth so for a definitive answer I would go to the Woods website and click on contact us and present your question you should get an answer within 24 hours. With the fact you are close coupled on the drawbar it shouldn't be a problem. I'm thinking the tongue weight is when the wings are up. It's been a long time but I think when companies require a heavy tongue the hitch pin size changes much like Cat III to IV.

Don't compare the 3240 to a 320 or 315! The 3240 is more than bouble the wt. with three times the tonge wt. with 6" ground clearance uuder the drawbar. JD 4440 is a good match only pulled him out of a ditch once this year. They are good but HEAVVVY.

Thank you for all the replies. I know what you mean. The 7000 doesn't even know the 320 is back there. I have pulled it up a sink hole hill with the 7000 and it keeps the front end on the ground then (a 45ish degree hill...) The Ford is worrying me about the drawbar weight. I think it should be alright with the weight up front. They sure are a lot heavier built than the old ones, but pretty big overkill for mowing a field lol. Too bad it is one of the lighter 20 footers weight wise, but I think if anyone knows where to put steel on a batwing, woods does. They invented the 20 foot batwing...
