And its out

OK. So, 4 miles to town in 90 degree heat produced a $5 easy out. Nice.

I punched the part of a file handle out of the brass fitting and further into the oil passage, and used an easy out on the brass fitting which came out very easy.

So now theres a hunk of file in my engine. It is blocking the oil passage, so it has to go. Its in there too far to reach it with anything. Im thinking of drilling it out, but theres so much metal that it may block something else. So im stumped. I dont think it will rotate, so mabey i could somehow attatch something and pull the while thing out??? Any ideas here???

Can you see it? What is the diameter of the hole?
A small magnet or some sticky stuff ion the end of
some wire might get it. Another picture might help us out also.

Lanse, i love ya buddy, but...jeez! It would take a brilliant writer to come up with all of this stuff, so it MUST all be true!

If the vacuum cleaner doesn't work, use compressed air in another port (like at the filter) and see if you can't blow it out.

lol. Welp, i sometimes think watching myself go about tractor escapades is better then most (ummm all) reality TV. I need a really good vacum. I'll update everyone once my mom goes to work tomorrow

get a small magnet on a telescoping pen it will come in handy at other times and even if you can't see it the magnet will find it for you.If you try a loose magnet it may come off what you attach it to and then you have a magnet stuck in there also

Forget the Vacuum and magnets. Go to the other end, pack it full of FFFG, the finest grind, of black powder and put a piece of cannon fuse in it. Not only will it blow it out, but you get to see a little fireworks!!!

I hope you guessed I am kidding. I guess I would try the magnet first, then compressed air.

If you can see the end, and it is solid, you might even try a little dab of JB Weld on the end of something, stick them together and wait overnight? Just a wild idea.

Good luck,, Gene

Seems to me a magnet on to the file handle would sort of help it stay put. I'm in favor of using the JB weld trick. or, some chewing gum or a needle nose pliers that are curved. (Ihave a pair of those) Nuff said Henry

Can ya reach it with a hemostat a tool that the hospitals use and can be bought a a drug store. It looks like a long nose plier end on a pair of scissors I have several pairs around including my tackle box to remove hooks from fish.

Try a V8 diesel glow plug trick. Use a vacuum at the hole where its to come out. Then use a blast of air to doslodge it and get it moving . The vacuum will do the rest

A bent piece of spring wire should be able to bypass the chunk, turn and draw it out (if it is not driven into the hole !!! JimN
