Can anyone give me information on this? All I know is that it was made between 1913 and 1919.

That is for sowing wheat or other winter grain in standing corn before the corn is harvested. My dad has one in his shed but the only thing we ever used it for was sowing a cover crop between raspberry rows in the garden. There are literally dozens of them in the ag museum at Minden Nebraska.

Neighbor had one 50 years ago. One time he cut down the cotton stalks and planted oats in the middles.

I have a Cole version of that in the shop right now. It doesn't have the galvanized section It was my great-grandpa's. Dad said they always called it a vetch drill as that is what they used it for.

My grandfather, circa 1872-1937, had this type drill and used it to plant soybeans between 42 inch, corn rows. This combination was used for silage. The nitrogen contributed to the soil by the beans, helped nourish the corn.
