One thing after another

I diddnt fix my little problem last night-just made it worse.

Its basicially the same thing as it was last night but with a broken off file in it. Any ideas now?? I tried to drill it out, but all that did was grind down the brass part and go around the file.

Also-How do i get this thing in time??

Lets try to get this thing running finally!!!!

someone said something about a file, and i think i "interperated" it a little differentally. Oh well. Judging by the 3 other heads laying around here, theres alot of space to work with in there. I have a little dremal rotery tool that i think i can grind some of the iron out from around this tree thingy and then get in it with vist grips.

lanse, before you go any further give us a pic so we can help with the best route. the file thing can work but you have to break a few before you can do it that is the reason I told you to use a allen wrench. There is a fix for it but we need to see how bad the hole is that you drilled beside the file piece. Don't rush into the removal until we can give you some advise and please keep the drill bits out for now they can make it even worse if you break one off in there

yep, thats what i figured.

I stopped the drill before anything happened, so its basicially the same picture as last night with a chunk of file flush with the brass part.

What im thinking of now is to use one of them dremal things to put a narrow slat in there which i can get into with a wide screwdriver and hopefully get it out that way.

describing the pic. is not as good as seeing to be able to help I will be headed to bed soon so just take your time and it will be ok. after breaking that file in there you may need to put a heli coil in but we will tackle that later if needed. try to get the broken file out by using a small chisel and lightly taping one edge of the file as to try and turn it in a counter clock wise direction who knows it may even bring the broken file and brass out together. heat it up with your hand held torch for a bit then try to tap it free. the cast will expand at a different rate than the brass and could help loosen it. just hold off on the power tools until we (your friends and support group) say drill it and then we will not be scratching our heads thinking if he would only listen to the majority and slow down. some of the advise given you is good but not for the inexperienced. PLEASE! just hold off on the power tools until we can look at it and offer you a more logical solution. Those power tools have a way of not knowing when to stop eating away at metal

LOL OK, i will. Thanks.

Pictures are a big problem since i have duialup, and uploading one takes 20 minuites or so (downloading is way less). I'll get one up. I think i have a way to do this though.

And you guys are the best support group i could ever ask for :)

ok but I really don't want to see you post tomorrow that the hole is bigger and shaped like an egg. I am sure you will get it done but just hope to help you not make the same mistakes many of us did back when we had no computer to get info on how to do things or just advise and opinions. I don't think I have the best answer but when I think I can help you see I respond other times I just sit back and let the other more seasoned follows take the reins to keep her at a steady pace lol.

If you are very careful and use a welder and a bolt with the welder a little on the cold side just touch the file and kill the welder. If you get the bolt stuck to the file and it will also loosen the file in the brass. You may just get it out this way.

Lanse if the broken fitting is brass a file or an easy out won't work as the brass is just too soft. They will just bury into the brass. What i do is take a very small chisel or an old screwdriver with a sharp blade and working carefully around the fitting,i start tapping the brass inward "not deeper in the hole"towards the center until it loosens itself from the threads in the casting. After it loosens from the threads you can then get it out.As for the broken peice of file try bumping it in the reverse direction with a small chisel. Then grip it with a good pair of needle nose pliers to pull it out. After you get the fitting out its a good ideal to restore the threads in the block.Be sure to use a tap with the correct thread pitch and size. Its probably a 1/8 pipe thread.Good luck.
