Is there a market for axles from old military trucks?

Just curious if there was a market for the heavy duty axles from the old military style trucks(four wheel drive front and rear)? Do the monster mudders or anyone else buy them?

There'as a lot of people restoring old military vehicles. I restored a 1956 M38a1 Jeep a few years ago and it's a great fun machine to drive in the summer. Google g503.com and search around. I'm pretty sure you could sell the axles without any problem.

All (or most) of the original monster trucks used axles from army trucks. I'm sure there are some Farm Show type guys cobbling up stuff that could use 'em.

There are some fire companies here in the USA who use old military trucks for backwoods fire fighting, and could probably use them.

Depending on what axels you've got there is a market for some of them with the rock crawling crow. They tend to like the steer axels off the deuce-and-a-half trucks to give steering on both ends, pretty much like the old monster trucks did.

Google Antique Military Vehicles, Vintage Military Vehicles and WWII Military Vehicles for forums and websites, there're several.
steelsoldiers. com (org?/net?) is the only one that comes to mind.
You could also post on the general old truck sites: aths.org, antiquetruckclubofamerica.com etc; someone wants those.
I wouldn't doubt there're some on EBay to check for prices. Any military stuff like that has a market, depending on condition and where you are. Good luck.

One of my Army buddies collects some of these old miltary vehicles and restores them. He has a WW2 3/4 ton Dodge ambulance, track laying Weasel with a Studebaker engine and a "duece and a half" GMC with the hyromatic transmission. He use to display them on Armed Forces Day in May on the nearby military base until 911 happened. They now have armed guards at all the gates and you better have a good ID and good reason for entering. Do what noncompos recommended there's probably a market for your axles. Hal

What's the diameter and length? I use heavy truck axles for tines on the rock buckets I build for skidloaders.

There must be a demand, as lots of places
advertise, and sell them. "4 Wheel Drive & Off
Road" Magizine as ads for outfits selling them.
