OT/Alpacas

Well I finished the barn and pasture. I bought three alpacas. They were delivered yesterday. I let them out into the pasture this morning and will put them up in a couple of hours. Trying to let them get used to the fescue I have. They came from a farm that has bermuda grass so I need to transition them to the fescue. They are neet animals. Not used to me yet but I think they remember me and my wife from several of our visits to the farm.

Welcome to the Alpaca world. We got out of the Cattle/Horse business 12 years ago, and into the Alpaca's. We now have 36, and want to get back down to around 20. We are at Black Hawk, CO at an elevation of 9000 feet. You should get on the web site and check out Fescue grass. It can get a fungus and can be toxic to Alpacas. Will try and find my picture of my Farmall C with the Alpacas and send later.
