There's an old saying, "You never turn down rain in Nebraska", but this bit of having thunderstorms with significant rain on alternating days all summer is starting to wear a little thin.

There's an awful lot of work not getting done. Also, I spent $6000 putting in underground sprinklers on about an acre of house lawn this spring and they've run twice. And both times we had a big rain less than a day later.

Sounds like what I told a neighbor one dry year. He said "I try selling snowmobiles and it doesn't snow. So I sell lawnmowers and it doesn't rain". I said "I wish you'd start selling irrigation equipment".

Quit complaning, it will ALWAYS dry up. Try going through an 8 year drought like the west part of Nebraska, and I bet you wont b!%ch about having rain.

It would be nice if we could average it out.

A few years ago, when I was still farming, we were in the middle of a drouth here. The last week of June my wife and I went to Brooklyn, Michigan to a NASCAR race, and while we were in the neighborhood, we went up to Frankenmuth to visit some friends. It was so wet there, they hadn't even been in the field yet.
