Pretty impressive!!!! Also a easier way to see them is just Google in Demag Ac 800. That will lead to another site called Daily Motion an on that site in couple video you can see the enormous equipement used to erect wind generators.

Interesting unit, you had best know what your outriggers are setting on with a rig that size, that is for sure, cannot imagine just the dunnage detail for one that heavy, steel plates must be quite large. How much counterweight can that unit carry on it's own ? Must be several loads of same when doing a job like erecting or taking down a tower crane with that unit, as shown in the photos.

I used to do lot of erecting work with hydraulic type mobile units, mostly Krupp and Liebher's in NYC,the Demag was appearing to become more popular in some of the crane outfits fleets.

Cranes Inc, link below, erected/dismantled the tower crane installed on heavy dunnage beams cantilevered off the side of the 10th floor of this building, with a 500 ton Demag, have been on 2 jobs with that 500 ton unit in action. You can see my 16'-0" material platform also cantilevered off this building, right at the corner of 51st & 5th in Manhattan across from St. Patricks Cathedral, it's the famous H&M store at the gorund level, a real popular stop for the ladies in town, upper floors of this building had a major gut rehab done while lower floors were occupied, it got a new structural steel frame starting at the 9th fl, upper floors building footprint also was made larger, a very complicated job, just staging and loading materials here was a real joy, we brought something like 68 trailer loads of material all the way from Portland,Oregon to this site, hoisted by that crane onto my platform.

This was one of their 300 ton units hoisting our expensive and very large custom windows, packed in crates, loading the various floors with the crates prior to installation after the mason finishes the rough openings, Tribeca near where Deniro lives, old warehouse district, popular neighborhood a few blocks north of the WTC site.
