I've got a front plow blade, including the frame, that came off of a John Deere Model 50. It's been sitting in the weeds for awhile, and I just had a guy ask me if I was interested in selling it so he could put it on his Model 50.
I'm all for saving old iron, just wanted to make sure I asked a fair price for it. Its got about 6 holes in the face of the blade that were cut with an acetelyne torch, each one about the size of a half-dollar. The previous owner used the holes to chain weights down to the blade.
I'm not a real good judge of weight, but I figure it must be worth at least $50 in scrap, if not more.
Also, I don't know much about Green tractors, but from what I've seen, the Model 50 wasn't especially rare, and the front plow blades aren't especially sought after.
I figured I'd ask somewhere around $50-$100 for it. Sound fair?
