i would like to know if the clutch on the pto can be adjusted and if so please advise on what to do .

the shaft engages on its own after a few minutes after being disengaged with no implements hooked up.

The PTO clutch is an over center clutch. How much effort does it take to snap the handle over center? It is adjusted by removing or adding shims. You will need to remove 2 bolts that hold the shield to the PTO gear case and then the four bolts holding the cover to the gear case plus remove the pin from the linkage. It is a trouble free set up Questions?

thank you for your responce. the shims that you are talking about are they the copper shims after the plate? there are three bunches of shims are these the ones you are refering too?i had a new clutch plate and discs put in and it worked fine for a short while then it started staying ingaged. should i remove one or two from each bunch? or should i add some ?
