Beech Lift truck

Does anyone know anything about a walk behind Beech Lift truck model # PS-2458B? (Sort of like a very small forklift.) It appears to have a 2"X2" lift platform and can lift 1000lbs, 58" high. I"m looking for something that can help me store some of my misc. tractor/lawn tractor parts vertically instead of horizontally. Asking price is $200.
Thanks for any advice on problems/issues/price since I know nothing about fork lifts etc.

The price sounds low. It could need a new battery at that price and they aren't cheap. $700 for a new battery might not be out of line. If it is a 12v system you might be able to get by with a 12v deep cell marine battery, but you would need to leave the original battery installed because it is a significant part of the counterweight on the forklift.

I don't know anything about Beech brand, but the Walkie style lifts can be pretty handy. The down side is that the out-rigger wheels often get in the way when trying to pick up (or set down) pallets. Also due to the wheel size on them, they need to stay on concrete or blacktop.

Good luck.

It currently doesn't have a battery. The add says it's a 12 volt, 45 battery. I'm guessing 45 is the size, but I'm not sure how large that is. I thought the price seemed very good also.

The last time I bought a battery for a lift at work it was $705 (12v, 26"x7"x23").

For occasional home use, you might be able to get by with some steel weights and a deep cell battery (provided it is 12v machine). Since you aren't looking for production use that might be fine. Usually the name plate on the machine will list the required battery weight, you will want to try to acheive that weight.

Be careful. Many people get hurt around these smaller machines because people don't respect the danger the way they would on something bigger.

The seller responded that it was demonstrated to him with a normal 12 volt car battery. The seller is a charity, so it was a donated item. There is a spot on the tag that listed battery weight but it wasn"t in focus so I don"t know it currently. Good idea on making sure it weighs at least that much. It"s listed as weighing 405 lbs, but has a capacity of 1000. There are no front legs on it, but there appears to be a significant box shaped thing behind the mast where I could pile on extra weight. It will only be used on a concrete surface. Thanks for your input, it"s been helpful!
