i am restoring a 1968 Ford F 100. I am trying to find out what colors John Deere used for there Service trucks suring this time period. I am wanting to paint it like a service truck and use it to pull my 1950 model B to shows.

Thanks

I doubt there was any set rules. Likely whatever each dealer felt like. The ones around here now are white trucks with fancy green and yellow striping.

I believe Mike M is correct, there was no standard.

My grandfather used Chevy pickups at that time for his dealership. He ordered the factory green color and then put decals on the doors.

These may help you. Hal

Just about any business that has a fleet of trucks has now gone to white as the color of choice for a new addition. Simply because white is the least expensive color offered.

it may or may not have been correct for the time period, but i think your f-1oo would sure look good white with the green/yellow stripes like today's service trucks-make it very "Deere".

You could have a picture of your tractor painted
on the sides or doors. We had a man that could look at a picture and then paint it as an artist. He could also paint it with a spray gun.

He painted a logo on this vehicle after this pic was taken. It was the comic charcter Pluto with an Army tank in his mouth and with the word's
"You Makem, We Breakem". Hal

Our dealer used to paint his - JD green, with JD yellow for the lettering. Took off the hood ornament and replaced it with a toy JD tractor!

Think the paint jobs were up to individual dealers.

Most John Deere dealers carry a toy line that includes model trucks from bygone times. I think they're done by Ertl. They might be of some help.
