Waitin' on that last patch of hay to dry, so figured I'd twist 'er tail and start getting this old beast ready for wheat.

Never ceases to amaze me how the rascals can lie there for 11 months of the year and pop off like ya just shut 'em off yesterday.

Okay, just to be sure:

I'm gonna yank the injection pump off and send it in for a rebuild (governor ring is bad). All I gotta do is align the marks in the little pump window and pull it. Right?

We had 2 of them thangs, but with the GM 292 gassers. Great machines; came with 13 ft feeler-bar headers; later swapped 'em for 16 floating cutter bars headers. That made 'em too fast in 2nd and too slow in 1st, so we swapped some 'external' gears in/on the transmission......as I recall, been a long time, which made 2nd just right and 1st so slow as to be useless. I'm an EXPERT.....usta to be, anyway, on changing out the clutch in-put shaft housing........

Allen- Don"t know about combines but I always get the timing on the flywheel and the pump to line up just in case it is out of time a little. If it is you can correct if needed. Bill

How's yours lookin?? Got a little hail on mine the 2nd, maybe 15-20% damage. Probably 10-14 days afore its ready, lots of green in the low spots and edges/ends.

Think it spent 32 years around farmers. :>)

Dunno, it was that way when I got it; doesn't seem to effect it in the least.

I'm guessing maybe three weeks yet?

Darned stuff is showing some moisture stress the past few days. Hope it had time to fill good.

I'm kinda scared to go out there and look. :>(

Must be nice having that diesel F. Mine is an old gasburner, but did OK for the little bit I was able to rent here in Illinois. Should sell it, along with the 400 air planter and my grain drill, but hope to find a patch or two I can corn and bean rotate again. Really thought with the red paint in your blood you would be running an IH axial flow. DOUG

I get a little jealous every time I read one of your posts. So much good work needs doin.

I've got to get out of the city. Do you need any help? I work cheap and don't eat much.

Does that governor ring come in the seal kit? I already bought the kit some time ago.

Darned thing runs like a million bucks; just every once in awhile it will die and I have to restart 'er.

I've repaired everything under the sun except a darned injection pump. I know if I were in one, I wouldn't be so "shy" about 'em. I've got the manual on the pump too.
