47 gallons of gold

Strapped my empty diesel barrel to the pickup, and drove over to the waterhole in Mobile to buy offroad diesel. (None of the local stations can afford any fuel anymore.) Didn't call ahead, and was shocked to find out off road was $4.74 a gallon off the barge from the refinery.
Anybody wanna bet that diesel hits $6.25 by mid September? It would have been cheaper to just fill it with on road at a filling station with diesel in the tanks. Anyway, buy now, the market for off road is cheap!!!!Compared to what it will be. DarnIT.

I quit even trying to buy off road, can't afford to fill the 500 gallon tank to end up having the fuel swiped. Our local diesel on road is 4.95 , 15 miles away 4.69. I buy it in 5 gallon used to be hydraulic fluid cans, which just happen to be yellow, so no problem for me to tell the small amount of mower gas in the red cans from the diesel. The mower gas disappears as fast as I can buy it, even diesel when I have it in red cans, can and all. So far our local fuel theives haven't figured out the yellow cans aren't all hydraulic fluid or used oil, do have some partly filled with waste oil setting in front of the diesel filled cans. DOUG
