oil pressure went away

I changed the oil in my ca allis chalmers
and the oil pressure went away and want come
back. You can take the gauge of and blow air
in it and it will read.
you can take the filter off and crank the
tractor oil comes out good you can not put
you finger over to hole and hold it back.
But the gauge does not read pressure.
What is wrong? Help Help !!!!!
 
Is the oil line plugged? I would blow it out with compressed air. I would fill that filter with engine oil too. Hal
PS: You may have lost the prime on the oil pump.
I wouldn't run the engine until you find the problem.
 
If you have the wrong oil filter on it that will cause that problem. The way the oil system on that engine works it need to have the right filter or you will have NO oil pressure. I run wix 57011s on my Cs and it works well but of course theres other that will also but in any case the wrong filter will make the pressure go bye bye

Check to make sure the tube that goes up into the filter out of the filter housing did not come out & get thrown away with the old filter.
 
If the filter isn't filled with cotton rag but is a "modern" pleated filter, its the wrong filter. You need the old style filter, Fram C159 works according to folks on the unofficial Allis forum.
