hydraulics on old Ford tractors (800 series)

The 800 series (and other) old Ford tractors could be upgrade to add remote hydraulics by removing a cover and adding a hydraulics control valve. Does anyone know what is under that valve? Are there seals that could fall in if removing the valve (or anything else that could go wrong while removing the valve)? Can a person still buy these control valves for these older tractors?

Thanks

The plate is removed from the lift cover.O-rings are used to seal the cover and the valve assembly that replaces the plate. They do not fall in when the componets are removed. And yes you can still purchase the control valves.I beleive this site has them among others.
