I have also heard muratic acid works well, but first put in some fuel, and a hand full of Aluminum roofing nails and drive around with it in the back. If you don't live on a rough dirt road you can just shake it.

Muriatic acid is nasty stuff and demands utmost caution, but yes, it works very well. Rinse thoroughly with water when done. Some folks say to use acetone as the last step to ensure that all the water is gone.

i know aluminum nails are soft and won't damage, but it can be easier to use something a magnet will pickup. ive also heard that pea gravel works well. whatever works well for ya...

Pea gravel works great as does a couple of pound dry wall screws tied on a wheel of a tractor and drive it around the barn lot several times. WORKS.

Well...I took a little different approach. I bolted a tank to the rear wheel of the 656, put a 3 foot length of heavy chain in it and mowed for about 3 hours. Wasn't pretty...but sure knocked that mess out of there.
