Wagon Hitch

I've been hauling round bales the last few days. Getting tired of getting off and on the tractor to hitch the wagon. Thinking an auto hook up device of some sort would be nice. I know you can buy one but I'am sure they are pricy. Anyone built one, have some pictures or plans they could share?

Perhaps something like a 1 point hitch from IH ??

Our "auto hookup" was a 4 foot long drawbar pin with a 90% bent hook in the end. You would grab the hook , pull the pin out of the draw bar, drive away from one wagon, back up to the next, turn the pin over , reach down with the hook, lift the tounge of the wagon onto the drawbar then reverse the pin and pin the hitch and away you would go.
Sound way more complex than it was but it saved climbing on and off the tractors MANY times.

You can at least tie a rope to your hitch pin out of your back window, then at least the unhooking is easy.

I have converted al my wagons and trailers to D ring style with 6"block underneath hanging with cable. the hook or pin is on the tractor three point arms croosbar. just lower three point hit the hole and away we go really works slick. All d rings and all other adapters are all bolted on so anything can be removed if need to be. Simple and really works slick. Currently is on ten units

We did something like Uncle Ernie; a 4 or 5 foot 'handle' welded on to the hitch pin; a spring-loaded 'skid' under the wagon/trailer tongues; used a drawbar in the lift arms; back up to wagon; position the drawbar to correct height; back up and insert pin; pick up lift arms to clear 'skid'; drive off. get where you're going and pull pin......from seat. Won't work with cab tractor.

I think that many years ago, Ferguson made a loader and manure spreader where you could load the spreader and then hook back onto the spreader without getting off of the tractor.

Farm show had a homemade affair that I built and then all by neighbors did too that goes on the 3pt and you hood and unhook from the seat.
