Fanbelt Cross Reference???

Just paid close to $50.00 for a mower deck belt for a old Deere 420 L & G tractor. Anyone know of a cheaper source or a way to cross them over to say Gates or another belt company?

I've had pretty good luck at Oreilys if you get a knowledgeable counter person. They have heavy duty green Gates belts for a lot of newer mower decks.

Measure the length of the belt?? Anyone that sells belts can measure the old one and make a pretty good guestimate as to it's original length. Might take a couple different belts to find the exact one you need... but you'll get it. Might be cheaper. Might not. Good quality belts are not cheap. Cheap belts are very expensive....

Yes, JD belts are high but from my experiance the cheaper aftermarket belt will not last as long as the JD belt.

some of orignal equipment belts have a different degree on v . have not tried on main belt but switched to tsc on blower belts as JD were never consistent on length. good luck belts have really went up this year
