North Missouri Flooding

Took 75 pic from Gallatin, Mo on Hwy 6 around thru Lock Springs to Chillicothe yesterday. Here are some from 7 to 9 inches of rain overnite, the photo's dont do justice to what it looks like in person. Last photo is a gooseneck trailer hardly visible in the water.

Know what you mean about pics not conveying the real scene. Years ago, some friends had their home flooded out. I solicited donations of household goods & furniture and hauled it to them. You just can't begin to fathom the damage unless you see it yourself.

All the dams on the upper Missouri river are holding back all the water they can. But not much they can do when all the rain is down stream from them. Sure has been a wet year for some areas. Been thru some flooding on river bottom land i used to farm.

I drove through this mess when it was first started covering the road in a semi truck. I had 4-5 cars following me in the hard rain, trying to drive through the water flowing over the road. One by one they vanished from my mirrors as they could not go through the water. It was mostly water flowing down the road towards the river bottom between Altamont and the new road addition west of Jamesport. My Hogs on board seemed to enjoy the cool rain from the hurricane like storm, but the driver was on pins and needles!
